On April 26, 2010, National Interstate Corporation (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that its principal insurance subsidiary, National Interstate Insurance Company, agreed to acquire Vanliner Insurance Company, a subsidiary of UniGroup, Inc., subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approval. A copy of the Company’s press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
