Pursuant to Official Letter Bovespa GAE 1616/07, forwarded on July 17, 2007, regarding news disclosed on this date by the newspaper Folha de São Paulo, page B7, titled Telecom Itália vende ações na BrT por US$ 550 mi (Telecom Italia sells its shares in BrT for US$ 550 mm), Brasil Telecom Participações S.A. and Brasil Telecom S.A. inform that they requested clarification to the shareholders mentioned in the news.
