Item 8.01. Other Events.
On October 27, 2008, Old National Bancorp (the "Company") issued a press release announcing that it received preliminary approval to participate in the U.S. Department of Treasury's Capital Purchase Program ("Program"). The Company applied for and received approval for up to $150 million of capital. The Company has not decided whether it will participate in the Program and continues to analyze the impact of participation in the Program as information is made available. The Company has thirty (30) days to determine whether it will commit to participation in the Program.
A copy of the press release issued by the Company is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
