Ozzie Areu to Receive the Eagle Leadership Award at the Latino Leaders Luncheon Series

ATLANTA - Sept. 4, 2019 - PRLog -- The Latino Leaders Network (LLN), a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing leaders together, will convene its 59th Latino Luncheon Series event honoring Ozzie Areu, Founder and CEO of Areu Bros. Studios, with the Eagle Leadership Award on Thursday, September 12th at 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at The Georgian Terrace (659 Peachtree St. NE). He will be introduced by his brother Will Areu.

Ozzie Areu is the Founder and CEO of Areu Bros. Studios, the first major Latino-owned and operated media studio in the United States. Previously, Areu served as the President of Tyler Perry Studios, where he produced almost $1B in production. He oversaw the studio and production businesses generating over 900 episodes of television including nine hit series, as well as 17 movies including numerous #1 box office openers and six stage plays. A renowned leader in the Latin American community, Ozzie received the Atlanta Business Chronicle's 2019 Most Admired CEO in Entertainment and named among the 50 Most Influential Latinos in Georgia.

Gilda (Gigi) Pedraza, Executive Director of the Latino Community Fund, will serve as the community partner. Sponsors include Chick-fil-A, The Coca-Cola Company, Southwest Airlines, Macy's, GEICO, JUUL Labs, Atlanta Hawks, Rick Baker and AT&T.

Guests will receive a copy of Latino Leaders Speak: Personal Stories of Struggle and Triumph, edited by Mickey Ibarra, courtesy of the Latino Leaders Network. The book features 33 keynote addresses delivered at the Latino Leaders Luncheon Series by leaders from a wide variety of occupations including, government, sports, entertainment, education, journalism and more. A supporting curriculum guide for teachers of grades 6-16 will be published this fall.
