     On March 5, 2007, MetLife, Inc. (the "Company") issued a press release
confirming its previously announced declaration of first quarter 2007 dividends
of $0.3975000 per share on the Company's floating rate non-cumulative preferred
stock, Series A, and $0.4062500 per share on the Company's 6.50% non-cumulative
preferred stock, Series B. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as
Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
