SECTION 8 – OTHER EVENTS
Item 8.01 Other Events.
On February 25, 2010, Citizens, Inc. (“Citizens”) issued a news release (the “Release”) reporting that it will release 2009 year-end earnings on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, and it intends to file its Form 10-K dated December 31, 2009 by Tuesday, March 16, 2010 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, contingent upon Ernst & Young, LLP’s completion of its audit of Citizens’ consolidated financial statements. Citizens also announced that it would hold a conference call to discuss its 2009 year-end operating results at 10 a.m. Central Standard Time on Thursday, March 11, 2010. A copy of the Release is included as Exhibit 99.8 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and incorporated herein by reference.
