Ohio based children’s author, Laura Ceville, has completed her first ever triathlon as the first major step in her Ironman campaign. Her next race is on 9 July in Caesar Creek State Park, and she is being trained by Don Scarpero of DCS Endurance Coaching.

Laura Ceville, the Ohio based children’s author, completed her first ever triathlon on 11 June and placed 6th in her age group, with an overall time of 1:36:06. Her next race will be another Sprint at Caesar Creek State Park in Waynesville, Ohio, on Sunday 9 July 2017 as she takes the next step on her Ironman journey.

She is planning a series of races as part of her training as she prepares for the ultimate goal of competing in the Ironman World Championship in October 2019, the year she turns 40. As part of the campaign, she is working with Don Scarpero of DCS Endurance Coaching.
Don has competed in triathlons for over 26 years, and has the knowledge and experience to help her achieve peak fitness and get in the best shape possible for the upcoming race.
He said: “This is the first major milestone in Laura’s targeted journey. The new phase of training we will enter for the next four weeks will have her doing some speed work at several different distances.”
Laura added: “I felt like my conditioning was perfect as I moved through the different sections of the race. There is a long road ahead, but it was such a tremendous boost to cross the finish line at my first triathlon.”
Her upcoming race is one of America’s longest running multisport series, in one of the most picturesque areas of the country. Caesar Creek State Park is home to clear blue waters, scattered woodlands, meadows and steep ravines.
Laura Ceville came to the United States at a young age. She was born in Panama City, Panama but it was growing up in the United States where she fell in love with the English language.
