Coral Restoration Foundation™ Becomes the Beneficiary of the World’s First Auto-Investing Token

By: Get News

Coral Restoration Foundation™ (CRF™) is a nonprofit organization committed to the restoration of coral reef ecosystems in Florida and around the world. This mission is now being supported by Ponyo Inu through the world’s first auto-impact investing crypto token.

Without immediate action, everybody currently stands to lose all shallow-water coral reefs by 2100, with roughly half of the world’s coral having been lost in the last three decades alone. Coral Restoration Foundation™ is working to reverse this trend, focused on actively restoring coral reefs on a massive scale in Florida, and is also helping to bolster coral reef restoration efforts globally through their leadership role within the Coral Restoration Consortium (CRC). CRF™ has now returned more than 170,000 corals to Florida’s Coral Reef.

In 2020 alone, CRF™ returned more than 27,000 corals to the wild, organized and attended the biannual CRC leadership meeting, facilitated the first coordinated exchange of stag-horn genets in the USA, and presented the world’s first international online celebration of coral reefs at Coralpalooza Digital 2020.

The organization is committed to improving its methods and harnessing innovative technologies as it continues to take this vital work to scale. One of the latest additions to the CRF™ arsenal is its photomosaic monitoring program.

“We now use photomosaic technology to analyze the areas we are restoring rather than fate-tracking individual corals. As of November 2021, we have restored more than 25,000 square meters of coral reefs in the Florida Keys. And that number keeps on growing.”

Recognizing the crisis facing the planet’s marine ecosystems, Ponyo Inu created the world’s first auto impact inventing token and has named Coral Restoration Foundation™ as its recipient. The token is designed to provide substantial financial support to Coral Restoration Foundation™ in its efforts to save and restore Earth’s coral reefs.

“We will be looking to raise funds to cover our 2022 operating budget of approximately $4.5M, and at the same time exploring the creation of an endowment to secure the future of the organization; reef restoration is a long-term endeavor and having guaranteed funding to cover our work in the coming decades is critical.” Chief Development Officer, Martha Roesler explains.

In 2019, Coral Restoration Foundation™, alongside NOAA and other partners, embarked on “Mission: Iconic Reefs” a holistic, collaborative, 20-year phased plan to fully restore seven of the most iconic reefs sites within the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.

This unprecedented plan will turn the tide for an ecosystem that provides a home to thousands of critical marine species and has an estimated economic value of around $8 billion. This incredible undertaking has a budget of around $97 million dollars.

Ponyo Inu has already raised over $700,000 for Coral Restoration Foundation™. This donation marks the first step in reaching their mile marker goal of contributing $100,000,000.00 to various foundations concentrated on protecting oceans around the world.
