Shaded Bliss: Black Woman-owned company uses vending concept to deliver affordable and stylish sunglasses

By: Get News

LOS ANGELES, CA – Black-Woman owned travel brand, Shaded Bliss, has created an innovative way to bring affordable, stylish, and designer-inspired sunglasses and accessories to more people using virtual automated vending machines. The vending concept allows Shaded Bliss to quickly and easily dispense premier eyewear at affordable prices to people across the country.

“Shaded Bliss has made the process of choosing eyewear or sunglasses easy for everyone. Whether a customer’s needs are medical, safety, or fashion, with Shaded Bliss there isn’t a showroom or wait. People can easily make their selection based on their taste,” Shaded Bliss CEO Tanisha Quilter-Williams said. “Style is very personal, and sunglasses are like the icing on the fashion cake. At Shaded Bliss, our mission is to allow everyone to step out feeling and looking their best, without leaving a dent in their wallets.”

Shaded Bliss vending holds 220 premium sunglasses, masks and accessories. The sunglasses cost between $19.99 and $39.99 per pair, and each machine’s cashless payment terminal accepts credit, debit and NFC.

The vending machines have a 42-inch digital interactive touchscreen display to aid customers and a remote management suite for security and monitoring inventory. Customers can scan the QR code on the machine with a cellphone to virtually try on each pair. A conveyor belt system ensures the items are dispensed safely to the customer after purchase.

“I have watched people break expensive sunglasses before. Once their broken, it is money down the drain. In fact, some expensive eyewear that costs hundreds of dollars may offer little to no protection for your eyes,” Quilter Williams said. “That motivated me to create Shaded Bliss and curated my line of products at a lower cost.”

Quilter-Williams founded Shaded Bliss in 2019. The business has rapidly grown since its inception and throughout the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic. The black female entrepreneur began selling items at outdoor festivals and markets. The brand also reached new heights through its online store. For online customers, a virtual try-on tool allows users to preview how each pair of sunglasses will look on their faces before making a purchase decision.

Shaded Bliss is currently operating a vending machine inside Hollywood Highland, one of California’s busiest dining and entertainment centers, which includes the TCL Chinese Theatre, and also a machine at the Del Amo Fashion Center in the South Bay area.

Shaded Bliss plans to expand its reach by launching more automated vending machines around the United States and internationally to allow everyone a chance to “#shadeinstyle”. The company is eyeing amusement parks and stadiums as potential locations. The company is also seeking private investors.

Adding a Shaded Bliss vending machine can benefit businesses by generating excitement and attracting traffic. The machines are at no cost to establishments and require no maintenance. And, each vending machine uses a low amount of electricity annually. Businesses can also enjoy a percentage of revenue from sold products or a placement paid fee.
