Amor Fati is a London-based, premium heated clothing brand that promises to help reduce energy costs while lending a hand to those less fortunate.
The Brand’s name, Amor Fati, is Latin for “Love of Fate”. The ancient stoics coined the phrase to describe how life’s hardships lead to personal growth like “a blazing fire [that] makes flame and brightness out of everything thrown into it” as former Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius wrote in his journal.
It seems fitting that a heated product could help in times of war and skyrocketing living costs.
10% of all profits to the brand go directly to families struggling with the cost of living via the British Energy Trust.
How Heated Jumper Works
The Jumper is effortless to operate.
It looks and feels exactly as a super-premium jumper should except it has a small USB Cable that plugs into an external battery. The battery is a 10,000mAh power bank no different from the ones used to charge cell phones. Their battery is light and premium looking and fits perfectly inside a side pocket where it is virtually unnoticeable to the wearer.
Users can choose between three levels of heat: Low, Medium and Hot.
The battery lasts about 5 hours on average, but the jumper also comes with an extension cable allowing users to connect directly to their workstation’s power source while working from home.
How Electric Clothing Reduces Energy Bills
Most people heat their homes in winter to around 22 degrees. Heated Jumpers can make a 17 or 18-degree home feel incredibly cosy and comfortable.
By reducing average home temperatures by 4 degrees UK households would see a 62% reduction in energy use and an elimination of 4 tons of Co2 per average household.
Households could save over £1000 per year.
Heated Jumpers & Safety
The Amor Fati heated Jumper is incredibly safe. The heat pads are made from graphene, a heat-conducting fabric designed to come into contact with the skin.
All the equipment has been factory tested and has achieved CE markings making them functional and safe for the modern European consumer.
The brand was founded by Italian technology entrepreneur, Carlo Burci and British Designer, Ben Richardson.
When asked why they started the brand Carlo replied “charging a heated jumper is over 30x more efficient than home heating. That has serious implications on your energy bill, but also on net household carbon emissions. Heating your body is simply cheaper and better for the environment than heating your home, but the only heated clothing options out there are either non-sustainable & low quality or designed for outdoor use. We wanted to fill that void.”
In a world riddled with inflation and inequality, Amor Fati Heated Jumpers are an innovation not to be overlooked.
They pack a serious punch in terms of benefits and they look good too.
