Terry Wilson’s Book ‘Miracle In The Mara’ Brings The Maasai Tribes In Africa Under The Spotlight
Life is a real challenge, and that includes everyone
Terry Wilson fulfills his ambition of writing a book with his recent release, Miracle in the Mara, An unforgettable Story of a Young Maasai’s Vision.

Terry Wilson announces the release of his book, Miracle in the Mara, An unforgettable Story of a Young Maasai’s Vision. The subject of this well-researched book is the Maasai tribes in Africa.

“I was invited to an H2OpenDoors water project in the Maasai Mara in Kenya back in 2019, where I met the story’s protagonist, and we quickly became friends,” says Terry Wilson about how he got the idea of writing this book. “I went back in 2021 and saw the work carried out by the Friends of the Maasai Mara (FOMM) and was overwhelmed and astonished at what they were doing to restore the Maasai tribe. I went back again in 2022 to gather the materials for my book.”

Terry was always passionate about reading and writing, and during his visit to Maasai Mara, he found the storyline and the protagonist for his book.

Miracle in the Mara The book covers a lot of ground, literally and figuratively, in many different ways. Terry has put together a book that gives insight into their history, present day, and future.

Terry says that he wants people who read the book to be inspired enough to book a trip to the Maasai Mara Camps.  He also wants them to know that the whole world is not in total chaos.

The book has fairly short chapters, covering various side stories connected to the overall experience. There are many wonderful photographs of the Maasai people and the countless animals that make their annual migration through the Mara.

“I believe this place is an incredible piece of earth where man and animals co-exist so peacefully and have for countless centuries,” Terry added. “What also inspired me to write this book is that the protagonist is half my age, as are the majority of the Mara Camps and Health and Education Center personnel.  They have their whole life ahead of them to expand their reach through training local Maasai and deeply believing in the Maasai culture to preserve and grow it.”

Terry Wilson is giving away all proceeds from the sale of this book to the Friends of the Maasai Mara (FOMM). The book will be initially available through Amazon. It will be published soon after that by Amazon.

“It is my gift to them and their culture.  Their motto is “you come as a visitor, and you leave as a friend.”  I’m proud that the Maasai have taken me in as a brother. Their generosity and hospitality are unrivaled.”

Terry has been a prolific writer all my life and has written many short stories and poetry.  This project was a labor of love, and he feels grateful that they have given him the opportunity to share their story with the world.

He will continue to write stories about his past life that he really didn’t have enough time to really focus on while raising a family and working in the financial field for a long portion of his professional career.
