Quality Policy Statement Templates Available For Current ISO Standards

By: Get News
The Quality Policy and quality objectives are the responsibility of top management. The policy is built on corporate objectives and values and linked to the organization's context and purpose.

ISO 9001 Checklist is pleased to announce the release of the latest version of information about creating a quality policy statement. The ISO quality policy statement, when properly constructed, demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement. The policy itself is the responsibility of upper management. It must be communicated, understood, and applied across the organization. The quality policy is also known as the mission statement, vision, strategic concept, charter, and statement of principles. Templates are available to serve as a launching pad for the organization's policy statement.

A carefully constructed policy statement ensures that employees understand how their job affects product quality, quality control, and the overall success of the company. Employees must be aware that their contributions, individually and corporately, are crucial to the organization's overall success and commitment to quality.

ISO 9001:2015 requires the quality policy of the business and its objectives are appropriate to the strategic and operational direction. Once the organization has identified its context and the relevant needs of its interested parties, Top Management is responsible for reviewing the policy and objectives in light of this new information to ensure continued relevance.

The company will need to understand and define any influences which affect its business. It must ensure that the strategy and direction consider these influences. The organization must review its current policy as needed to ensure that changes in context or the requirements of interested parties are reflected.

The quality policy requirements are comparable to ISO 9001:2008 Clause 5.3. The policy must provide evidence that top management has participated in creating, reviewing, and maintaining the policy. The policy should be reviewed to ensure that it is appropriate to the purpose and context of the organization. There should be a demonstrated commitment to improving the QMS, and the objectives are consistent with the policy.
