Item 7.01     Regulation FD Disclosure.
     On December 22, 2008, EPIX Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved for marketing its novel blood pool magnetic resonance angiography agent, Vasovist® (gadofosveset trisodium), to evaluate aortoiliac occlusive disease in adults with known or suspected peripheral vascular disease. The full text of the press release issued in connection with the announcement is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated by reference herein.
