McCabe helped found Pinnacle in 2000, served as its chairman for 25 years and played a central role in developing the firm’s distinctive banking model, which has produced industry-leading growth and client loyalty, as well as outsized shareholder returns. As chief banking officer, he leads the banking organization and oversees the recruiting and operating disciplines that have become synonymous with the Pinnacle approach to serving clients and developing talent.

“Rob has been instrumental in creating one of the most successful banks in the country,” said Kevin Blair, Pinnacle president and CEO. “His leadership and relentless focus on serving clients and developing great bankers have shaped this company from the beginning. Having him continue as chief banking officer through 2027 and then as a strategic advisor to me personally through 2029 strengthens our ability to successfully execute our strategy and preserve our culture.”

This move provides additional continuity as Pinnacle continues building on its momentum following its combination with Synovus and expands its proven operating model across the Southeast.

“I have confidence in our business model and the talented team members throughout our footprint,” McCabe said. “It’s an honor to spend more time helping the next generation of leaders build on what we’ve created together. We have a lot of opportunity ahead of us.”

“Rob has always believed that great banking starts with great people,” Blair said. “His influence extends far beyond any one title. He has built leaders across this company, and we’re fortunate to have his experience and guidance.”
