BRUTALITY OF PSYCHIATRIC TREATMENT EXPOSED BY NEW MEXICAN PLAYWRIGHT AT UNIQUE EXHIBIT

A Traveling Exhibit made a 4-day stop in March in Albuquerque on Central Avenue.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM, March 17, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The exhibit, from the non-profit Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR), offered the history of abuses in the field of psychiatry. It toured visitors through the graphic panels and video excerpts of the documentary, Psychiatry: an An Industry of Death.

Public touring the exhibit were impressed with the data and found it very informative. The panels depict the history of false science claiming Man is an Animal and could be treated as such, through the brutal treatments that ensued, such as lobotomies and electro- convulsive electroconvulsive treatment (ECT), to the current era of massive drugging of populations with psychotropic drugs.

The opening of the exhibit featured guest speaker, Pipa Piñon, a New Mexican playwright who shared her gripping story of being brutalized in a psychiatric institution as a teen. She stated, "My psychiatrist hospitalized me, and that became my entry, into forced hospitalization, and forced treatment for years. I was regularly put in five point restraints; tied to beds for days on end. I was given 22 electric shock treatments. Electricity coursing through my brain, fracturing my mind from my body, and my heart from my soul. They blew me apart, but they couldn't touch my soul. ""

Exhibit goers were surprised to learn that ECT is still being done today here in New Mexico, and that it is inflicted on a million people worldwide every year. "I hope this traveling exhibit helps enlighten our society and how we treat each other— with compassion and care rather than with control and cruelty," said Piñon.

The graphic panels that were most impacting to the public were on the drugging of school children, with over 20 million children on these mind-altering drugs. This has resulted in the epidemic of violence and suicides from those young people digesting these psychotropic drugs. The drastic rise in school shootings have has been traced directly to the use of psychiatric drugs by the perpetrators of these horrific crimes. The latest documentary from CCHR, Prescription for Violence, was available for free to interested visitors which documents this horror.

The real eye-opener in the exhibit are is the facts that with the Billions billions of dollars spent every year on psychiatric treatments, the Psychiatric Industry offers zero cures. Left in their wake is what we find as a plague in every city in the United States; drug addiction, homelessness, incarceration in mental institutions, and grief.

This CCHR travels exhibit travels through major cities in the Western United States and issues the warning to parents and community members that psychiatric treatments kills kill. There are 14 identical traveling Exhibits in countries all over the world.
