As prediction markets continue to mature, London-based proprietary trading firm Westren Capital expands its proprietary trading operations to include event-driven markets.

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, July 15, 2026  Westren Capital, a London-based proprietary trading firm focused on digital asset markets, today announced its expansion into prediction markets, extending the firm's proprietary trading and market-making activities into one of the fastest-growing segments of digital finance.

The announcement follows the firm's busiest quarter since commencing operations, with Q2 2026 marking its strongest quarterly performance with Q2 2026 marking the firm's strongest quarterly performance to date.

During the quarter, Westren Capital reported net profit of £86 million alongside a 96% year-over-year increase in trading volume, reflecting continued growth across its proprietary digital asset spot and derivatives trading operations. The performance provides a strong foundation for the firm's expansion into prediction markets, further broadening its presence across digital financial markets.

Building on that momentum, Westren Capital is now extending its operations into prediction markets, where contracts are traded on the probability of future events rather than the value of traditional financial assets. The move broadens the firm's trading universe beyond cryptocurrency markets and reflects the growing role of event-driven markets within the digital asset ecosystem.

Prediction markets have seen rapid growth over the past two years, driven by improving liquidity, increasing user participation and rising institutional interest. Platforms offering markets on elections, macroeconomic decisions, technology, geopolitics and sporting events have emerged as an increasingly active part of the broader digital finance landscape.

Westren Capital's initial focus will be on proprietary trading and market making across selected prediction market venues. The firm also expects to expand its research into execution and liquidity as the sector continues to mature.

"Prediction markets are developing into a market of their own," said a spokesperson for Westren Capital. "They operate differently from traditional financial markets, with pricing driven by information, probability and changing expectations. As liquidity continues to deepen, we believe they will become an increasingly important part of the global trading landscape."

The expansion represents the latest step in Westren Capital's broader strategy of participating in emerging digital markets where liquidity, technology and market structure continue to evolve. The firm expects prediction markets to complement its existing activities across digital assets while opening new opportunities in event-driven trading.
