-- YoungLong, a Korean health food brand founded by pharmacists, is gaining attention in China after its K+Melain Kombucha ranked No. 1 in the health food category during a livestream commerce session on Douyin, China’s version of TikTok.
The livestream, conducted in collaboration with a local Chinese influencer, attracted 248,000 cumulative viewers in a single session. K+Melain Kombucha ranked No. 1 in Douyin’s health food category based on sales popularity, while the livestream generated approximately RMB 1.6 million in gross merchandise value (GMV) and nearly 10,000 orders, demonstrating strong consumer interest and purchase activity in the Chinese market.
Featured during the livestream, YoungLong K+Melain Kombucha is one of the brand’s flagship products driving its international expansion. Developed from a pharmacist-led perspective, the product features a differentiated formulation designed with modern dietary habits in mind. In particular, its formulation centers on potassium to support nutritional balance for consumers whose diets tend to be high in sodium.
Each serving contains approximately 867mg of potassium and 214mg of bromelain protease, along with ingredients including pumpkin, corn silk, Centella asiatica, quercetin, postbiotics and seven probiotic strains. The powdered drink is designed to be mixed with water and consumed once daily. It uses natural lime and lemon flavors instead of artificial flavoring, making it convenient to incorporate into an everyday routine.
K+Melain Kombucha has also played a key role in YoungLong’s expansion beyond Korea. The product’s sales performance contributed to YoungLong being named a “Rising Brand Seller” in the health category on Shopee Singapore, one of Southeast Asia’s major e-commerce platforms.
