What is the Pavia Metaverse?
Pavia.io is a blockchain based, immersive metaverse which utilise the Unity Game Engine and Cardano blockchain as part of its tech stack. The project was named Pavia after the birthplace of Gerolamo Cardano the famous Italian mathematician.
The 100,000 land parcels which have all been minted as Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs) sold out swiftly during three sales between October 2021 and February 2022. On the final land sale the demand for the project was 13x over subscribed, for the Cardano community as a whole it was a truly wild time. The project now boasts a strong vibrant community of 18,000 unique land owners and a wider community of around 70,000 strong. In addition there are over 70 verified 3D asset creators from around the world who have joined the Pavia Compatible Asset (PCA) creator program. Each one has independently joined from the vibrant community.
Pavia and Ready Player Me
Pavia Corp partnered with Ready Player Me as its avatar solution very early in its journey and before all digital land parcels had been sold, it was an obvious fit as they share very similar views in relation to interoperability across the emerging Metaverse space. As Web3 truly gets going there is so much more to come.
As a side note Ready Player Me recently raised $13M in their series A, which include some very big names.

The Pavia metaverse project does not believe in creating a walled garden, instead it believes in the freedom of movement across a wide variety of immerse experiences. Projects are no longer confined by the restrictions of Web2. Interoperability is at the core of its development.
In mid August Pavia turned on the claim function for all land owners to claim a branded piece of avatar merch (wearable). A whopping 33,000 pieces were claimed as NFTs. These NFT avatar wearables range from caps to t-shirts and hoodies in a variety of colours. Morgan the project CEO stated: “we are truly blown away by the support of the community, now Go Explore!”
Other projects have minted items for avatars but Pavia has taken it a huge step further and is actively encouraging its land owners to ‘Go Explore’ other digital realms whilst wearing their avatar merch, and the community has been in great numbers. From VRChat, Somnium Space, Spatial and many other digital spaces. Their twitter timeline is a great place for anyone looking at examples of the #PaviaExplorers in action.
With this event, gone are the days of trying to lock your users in, Pavia strongly believes and very much hope that this is just the first of millions of similar cross project / cross-metaverse collaborations. Users should be free to roam the Metaverse!
The project says that Pavs (pavs.io) will also play a vital role in future interoperability plans.
