Before establishing her organizations, Ms. Lopez led a distinguished corporate career by serving in leadership and training roles at major institutions, including senior program manager for talent development at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and various vice president, branch manager and corporate trainer roles at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Bank of America.

Ms. Lopez's dedication to elder health care stems from her deeply personal experience caring for her grandmother. The experience highlighted significant gaps in the quality of senior care and the profound lack of support that family caregivers experience. All of this led her to establish Caring Haven in 2023, and it quickly earned acclaim, including being named the best senior care agency in the Bay Area by the Best of Best Review in 2024. Next, the often-invisible struggles of untrained family members caring for their loved ones' needs compelled Ms. Lopez to found Caregiver OneCall, a unique nonprofit entity in the country. Through it, she established one of California's first 24/7 caregiver support hotlines, which offers free emotional support, training and access to respite resources. She explains that one of the biggest challenges for many family members is not identifying themselves as caregivers, which frequently makes their struggles invisible to society.

Making a Difference

Ms. Lopez's civic contributions include serving as vice chair of the Economic Opportunity Council of Contra Costa County and as a member of the county's Advisory Council on Aging and the Equal Employment Opportunity Council. She is also a recognized author, with works including "When the Strong Get Tired: Real Caregiving Stories. Real Support," and "Lesbian, Who Are You? A Journey through Identity, Love and Belonging," both released in 2025.
