Author, church leader, and lecturer Nana Afaidze-Hayford announces the forthcoming release of The Historicity of Jesus Christ's Resurrection Independent of the Gospel Narratives by Apostle Paul: A New Methodological Claim, Volume I, a scholarly study examining the historical foundation necessary for evaluating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Before discussing resurrection appearances and Paul's writings, Volume I examines whether Jesus was a real first-century person or a myth. It also considers whether the historical events of His trial, crucifixion, death, and burial can be supported by evidence.

The book addresses the mythicist hypothesis, which claims Jesus was either a literary figure or derived from dying and returning deities. Afaidze-Hayford compares figures like Osiris, Dionysus, Adonis, and Romulus with Jesus, examining their narratives against historical, cultural, and theological claims. Instead of broad similarities, the study uses a structured comparison of historical identity, religious background, prophetic tradition, purpose of death, witness testimony, and the community formed around these events.

Volume I also examines the political and legal circumstances surrounding Jesus' final days. Sections explore the role of Pontius Pilate, Roman execution practices, the certainty of death by crucifixion, Jewish burial customs, and the reported involvement of Joseph of Arimathea. These events are considered within the social, political, and religious environment of first-century Judea.

The study further evaluates early Christian references to Jesus' humanity, ancestry, Jewish identity, family relationships, suffering, and death. By bringing together biblical, extra-biblical, historical, and comparative evidence, Afaidze-Hayford seeks to establish a responsible foundation from which the resurrection claim may later be examined.

The publication targets students, scholars, ministers, researchers, Christian apologists, and readers interested in ancient history, biblical studies, historical methodology, comparative religion, and early Christianity.
