Astound Virtual, the leader in virtual career fairs, today announced the launch of HiringFairs.com, the in-person recruiting event division of the growing business. The first HiringFair will take place in Philadelphia on October 13.
“For more than 14 years, we have connected more than 7 million job seekers with thousands of companies through our virtual career fairs, but we knew there was a place for that in-person connection. That is why we launched HiringFairs” stated Kevin O’Brien, managing partner, of Astound.
After months of preparation, HiringFairs has added cities and dates to their schedule with the first event taking place in Philadelphia. Additional cities such as Jacksonville, Arlington, VA, and Nashville will also take place in the coming months.
Astound is the parent company of Veteran Recruiting and several other sites that have pioneered the virtual career fair space for over 14 years, and veterans will be a big focus of the Hiring Fairs taking place around the country.
“When we decided to move forward with HiringFairs, we knew we did not want to be just another job fair company. That is why we limit the events to no more than 20 companies, and why we work one-to-one with each job seeker to match them with opportunities prior to attending the event.” Said O’Brien
The inaugural event in Philadelphia has 20 of the region’s most desirable employers such as Wawa, Comcast, Republic Services, United States Cold Storage, Rivers Casino, Independence Blue Cross, Philadelphia Police, Performance Food Group, University of Pennsylvania, Urban Engineers, B Braun, Penn Medicine, Enterprise Holdings, Jefferson Health, Sysco, PECO, Cintas, Subaru, Viking Yachts, and Cooper University Health Care.
