January 14, 2025 - Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, USA - An innovative staff wellness program based on the two-time award-winning, bestselling book The Ayurveda Way is scaling to equip more organizations. The Take Health Into Your Own Hands Staff Training Program, developed by Ananta Ripa Ajmera, has already realized transformative results at Stanford School of Medicine’s Health Improvement Program and throughout California probation departments.
This 8-week program, set to begin on January 14, 2025, is combined with a year of ongoing community wellness support, set to reach a wider audience, helping with workplace wellness such as improved productivity, reduced stress, and enhanced employee well-being.
Grounded in the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda (Yoga’s sister holistic science that focuses on healthy lifestyle), the program has produced significant outcomes in the areas of productivity, health, and overall wellbeing. The results from the initial pilot programs surveying 89 participants at Stanford and California probation departments showed:
- 31% improvement in productivity
- 47% fewer aches and pains
- 46% better sleep
- and 95% of participants reported improved work performance.
Additionally 98% of participants have recommended the program, highlighting its effectiveness and wide appeal.
Burnout and mental health concerns have been on the rise across industries, calling out the need for effective wellness programs. According to the 2024 State of Workforce Mental Health Report from Lyra Health, 87% of workers faced at least one mental health issue in 2023 while 65% reported that mental health interfered with their ability to work. This is where the Take Health Into Your Own Hands program makes the difference by addressing both the root causes of stress and ongoing health challenges that affect employee performance and well-being.
“Our Take Health Into Your Own Hands corporate training program is not about simply improving productivity at work; it's about empowering people to take back their health and wellness on all levels—physically, mentally, and emotionally,” explains Ananta Ripa Ajmera, founder, The Ancient Way. “By infusing time-tested Ayurvedic practices we work towards equipping staff with ways to manage stress, improve concentration, and bring harmony to their personal and professional lives.”
This holistic approach not only enhances individual health but also creates a thriving and more resilient workforce which in turn leads to better performance and greater overall success for organizations.
The program has been very successful since the pilots in 2015 and 2016, and now it is expanding, effective January 2025, to offer its unique wellness solutions to organizations across the country.
The Alameda County Probation Department piloted a program combining Ayurveda and yoga for staff, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback. Facilitated by former Training Manager Shereen Khan, Ms. Ananta became an approved STC provider through the California Board of State and Community Corrections. This initiative underscores the value of self-care in enhancing well-being and resilience among law enforcement personnel and any others navigating stressful work circumstances.
