According to expert Vanessa Powers, cosmetic and skincare product labels can sometimes be misleading and consumers should take caution in assessing these details before making a purchase.

Additionally, Vanessa notes most labels use technical jargon unfamiliar to a layman’s ear. This is due to distributors often matching ingredients with country-specific legal terms depending on where the product was manufactured.

“With all these loopholes in labeling regulations, it’s vital consumers equip themselves with reliable information,” says Vanessa. “I encourage everyone to become internet sleuths and finally learn the truth about what ingredients certain products are really made of, especially skincare part of our daily ritual.”
