“The book uses my life story as somewhat a guide. I was diagnosed with Juvenile Type 1 diabetes as a teenager in the early 70’s when diabetes is not as prevalent as it is today. I was told by doctors that I would be lucky to live to 50 years old and that my life will be complicated with the disease.“
Jim Stavis is truly a relentless and incredible being. Jim Stavis was diagnosed with juvenile type I diabetes at age 17. He was told to expect a shortened lifespan with medical difficulties along the way. This medical diagnosis shaped his life in a way that could have led to depression and decay, but instead motivated Jim to rise above the adversity in spite of the dire forecast.
