Explore the Quality and Craftsmanship of Combat Iron Apparel Co.: Premium Fitness and Patriotic BrandDifficulties of Growing a Veteran/Law Enforcement Owned Patriotic Clothing Line

After leaving the Military and Law Enforcement in 2015 looking for a hobby, Combat Iron Apparel® was born. A veteran-owned apparel brand that was founded with the mission of empowering and supporting veterans through fitness and fashion, growing into something larger than ever expected. But as with any small business, growing the brand has not been without its challenges.

One of the biggest difficulties for Combat Iron Apparel has been gaining visibility and staying top of list in a crowded market. As a smaller brand, with a smaller advertisement budget, it can be hard to stand out among the countless other patriotic clothing companies vying for customers' attention. This is especially true in the realm of fashion, where trends and styles are constantly changing, and new brands are popping up all the time. Selling all the products from just a professional looking ecommerce website and basic mobile app, Combat Iron doesn’t have a store front due to space limitations.

Challenges in life are what helps form us as people and usually growth of some sort is the result. However, for Combat Iron, obviously financial aspect of the business has been sometimes a struggle. Starting and competing with other clothing brand requires a significant investment of money and time, and it can be difficult to generate enough revenue to cover expenses, design/create new gear and turn a profit to pay staff. With prices on the rise, this is a constant battle, that requires a lot of discipline to insure all areas are covered at all times.

Since 2017, Combat Iron has designed, printed and fulfilled all apparel out of the product facility located in Gainesville, GA. This allowed for a higher quality product and faster turnaround times for the paying customer. This requires employees to run the machinery and handle the daunting, long hour tasks. Finding the proper employees that cares for the brand, cares for the customers and carries a great work ethic can be a tough task to handle.

Despite these difficulties, Combat Iron Apparel has managed to grow from an idea, to working on a kitchen table, to buying a 10,000sqft production facility, carry a full-time staff and continuing to make large growth in the market. The company has built a loyal customer base through its commitment to quality, attending events across the Nation and its mission of supporting veterans. Developing strong relationships with other law enforcement, veterans and fitness organizations has help Combat Iron Apparel Co. become a trusted and respected member of the veteran community.

In conclusion, growing a veteran-owned apparel brand like Combat Iron Apparel® is no easy feat, a lot of work and a lot of discipline. However, growing this so large into the civilian and veteran community by focusing on quality, building a strong online presence, and fostering a sense of community among its customers, the company has been able to overcome the many challenges it has faced and build a successful and thriving business.
