The National Women In Agriculture Association (NWIAA) proudly announces that their recent 2nd Annual National Veteran Women In Agriculture Conference, held in Atlanta, GA on July 6-7, 2023, was a remarkable success as the largest minority agriculture conference in American history, surpassing all previous USDA outreach and technical service records for underserved and minority farmers. With over 1000 participants in attendance, the conference has marked a groundbreaking milestone in the advancement of minority women farmers and at-risk youth.
Under the theme "America's Veteran Women (Sheroes) in Agriculture," the conference successfully highlighted the invaluable contributions of veteran women in agriculture and their exceptional experiences in service to their country. Those in attendance included over 1000 farmers, USDA leaders, researchers, politicians, and legal attorneys. The event immersed participants in a wealth of agricultural education, military history, and cutting-edge developments in both urban and rural farming practices.
NWIAA had the honor of recognizing the Veteran Women of The Year, as well as attorneys dedicated to combating Farm Loan Discrimination and esteemed military veterans. NWIAA extends an invitation to join their upcoming March to Equity & Inclusion in Washington D.C. for Women Farmers and Youth. Taking place on September 21, 2023, the march will lead participants from Capitol Hill to The United States White House, advocating for assistance from President Biden and The White House Policy Council. The NWIAA seeks to become the first congressionally chartered black agricultural organization in United States history, which would further amplify their voice in support of minority women farmers.
