Cultural Intelligence Meets Corporate Strategy: NFJC and Kandis Davis Partner to Bring Belonging from the Boardroom to the Classroom

Buffalo, NY - April 23, 2025 - The National Federation for Just Communities of Western New York (NFJC) is deepening its commitment to fostering equity, empathy, and justice through a powerful partnership with international Culture Ambassador Kandis Davis. Together, they are building bridges across generations, industries, and geographies to redefine how we lead with belonging at the center.

NFJC, a nationally recognized organization, has long been a champion of courageous dialogue and community transformation. Under the visionary leadership of President Rene Petties-Jones, the organization continues to expand its reach—delivering education, advocacy, and leadership development that resonates from local classrooms to national boardrooms. Petties-Jones brings a deep sense of relational equity and integrity to the Federation’s mission, ensuring that justice is not just a value but a lived practice across every partnership.

One such partnership is with Davis, whose Belonging Lab™ ecosystem aligns powerfully with NFJC’s mission. In a recent virtual teen leadership masterclass, Davis joined students from across the United States in a live session broadcast from Italy. Through journaling, storytelling, and cultural reflection, students explored themes of identity, emotional intelligence, and inclusive leadership—key pillars in Davis’s multi-generational approach to change.

Beyond youth engagement, Davis brings over two decades of global experience to corporate spaces. She’s performed on world stages as a concert cellist, taught executive communications to teams at numerous multinational companies like IBM, Accenture and Michelin, and now consults on inclusive leadership strategies with organizations globally. Her Belonging Pillars, rooted in both cultural (CQ) and emotional intelligence (EQ), transform how companies approach engagement, retention, and community impact.

Davis’s Harmony Heroes children’s book series—now included in ERG and corporate family programs—ensures that the values of belonging don’t stop at the workplace, but extend into homes and future generations.

With support from Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub, Davis and NFJC are working to scale these tools and trainings to meet the growing demand for systemic change through inclusive, story-led learning.
