Dr. Joanne Vázquez de Príncipe elected Chair-Elect for the Leadership and Coaching Community

University of Phoenix is pleased to share that Joanne Vázquez de Príncipe, DM, associate faculty, College of Doctoral Studies and fellow, Center of Leadership Studies & Organizational Research (CLOSR), has been elected to the position of Chair-Elect for the International Leadership Association (ILA) Leadership and Coaching Member Community.

“It is an honor to accept the opportunity to serve in this role, which means a great deal to me as it synthesizes my life journey thus far by aligning both my personal purposeful passions of building collaborative global communities, and my professional experiences for elevating the field practices of leadership and coaching," shares Vázquez de Príncipe. “I look forward to learning creative new ways for engaging the intersectional member community as a proactive steward with the intent of expanding the Leadership and Coaching group's membership twofold by the culmination of my progressive roles within the three-year term.”

ILA is the professional home of a global community of leaders and leadership researchers, educators, and development specialists who believe that leadership is the key to a just and thriving future for all people. ILA connects scholars worldwide to advance leadership through trusted spaces and relevant leadership resources.

The ILA Leadership and Coaching Member Community create opportunities to connect, collaborate, and grow knowledge around coaching and leadership with members representing a wide variety of coaching perspectives. The Chair Elect position is part of a three-year term that progresses to Chair and Past-Chair in consecutive years. As Chair-Elect, Vázquez de Príncipe supports the Chair, manages projects, and prepares for future leadership, as Chair she will set the vision, lead initiatives, and act as the main ILA liaison, and as Past-Chair she will provide continuity, guidance, and historical perspective.

Vázquez de Príncipe is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Purposeful Coaching LLC d/b/a Purposeful Advising & Coaching, USA, a boutique firm offering organizational management thought leadership, group development engagements, consulting, and leadership coaching for emerging leaders. She is also an affiliate and member of the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and Center for Credentialing Education (CCE), a Board Certified Coach (BCC) exam item writer, item reviewer, and subject matter expert serving as coaching industry standards setter.

As an Associate Faculty member of Doctoral Organizational Behavior at the College, Vázquez de Príncipe educates and evaluates the curriculum of business and doctoral leadership programs. Her career spans more than three decades of multidisciplinary experience across professional services industries, including legal, non-profit, finance, and government, with specialties ranging from global human capital management to change enablement and organizational development excellence to strategic planning initiatives.

An accomplished author and researcher, Vázquez de Príncipe earned her doctorate in Management specializing in Organizational Leadership at University of Phoenix, as well as a Master of Arts in Organizational Management and her continued research interests as a Fellow with CLSOR focuses on alignment between organizational leadership and culture-building approaches.
