Mercer Advisors Appoints Kate Shackleton as Head of New Partner Success

Seasoned wealth management leader joins $86 billion RIA to accelerate partner firm success and growth

Mercer Global Advisors, Inc. (“Mercer Advisors”), a national Registered Investment Adviser (RIA), today announced the appointment of Katelyn (Kate) Shackleton as Executive Managing Director, New Partner Success. Shackleton joins Mercer Advisors to lead the integration and accelerated growth of newly acquired partner firms, reinforcing the company’s commitment to investing in the success of its partners who join through acquisition amid a record year for its inorganic growth strategy. The company’s longstanding Partner Integration team, led by Rick Weyers, Vice President, Partner Integration, will report to Kate.

With more than a dozen partner firms joining in 2025—and more expected by year end—Mercer Advisors is reaffirming its role as the destination of choice for growth-minded advisors who seek to deliver fully integrated family office services, including a customized institutional-grade investment portfolio to every client. Shackleton brings deep industry expertise to guide the success of partner firms, with the goal of ensuring seamless integration and long-term value for their clients and teams.

With more than 20 years of experience in wealth and investment management, Shackleton has spearheaded business strategy, innovation, process reengineering, and employee engagement for leading wealth management firms. Prior to joining Mercer Advisors, she worked in various capacities at LPL Financial including Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy and New Ventures, and Head of Trust & Insurance. In her most recent role at LPL, she worked closely with LPL’s most complex clients and their advisors to deliver multi-generational trust & wealth management solutions. Before LPL, Shackleton held leadership positions at Wells Fargo, Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan Private Bank.

In addition to Shackleton’s appointment, Mercer Advisors recently welcomed two new Vice Presidents of the M&A Partner Development team: Carrie Ohm, CPFA, and Alex Moore, CFA, CPA. Ohm joined from OneDigital’s corporate development team, while Moore, a sell-side mergers and acquisitions specialist, joined from MarshBerry. Together, they bring deep expertise in inorganic growth and partnerships.

2025 and 2024 - Barron’s Top 100 RIA methodology

Mercer Advisors was ranked #1 for non-mega RIA firms. Advisers who wish to be ranked fill out a 100+ question survey about their practice. Barron's verifies that data with regulatory databases and then Barron's applies their rankings formula to the data to generate a ranking. The formula features three major categories of calculations: (1) Assets (2) Revenue (3) Quality of practice. In each of those categories Barron's does multiple sub calculations including asset type, growth, client retention, technology spending, succession planning, diversity of their teams, charitable and philanthropic work and compliance records. No fee was paid for participation in the ranking, however, Mercer Advisors has paid a fee to Barron's to use the ranking in marketing.
