This year’s awards coincided with two landmark anniversaries in disability rights: the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the 15th anniversary of the Twenty-First Century Video and Communications Accessibility Act (CVAA). These historic laws have played a significant role in creating a more inclusive and equitable communications landscape, principles that have long guided Greg Hlibok’s distinguished career as an attorney.

During his tenure at the FCC, Greg played a key role in driving Video Relay Service (VRS) reform and implementing the CVAA, helping to usher in an era of technological and regulatory innovation in accessible communications. His leadership has left a lasting impact on policy and practice, ensuring that accessibility stays at the forefront of telecommunications development.
