WHO 13 in Des Moines, IA, Wins Award for “Hard News”

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXST), today announced that KXAN-TV, the company’s television station in Austin, Texas (DMA #32), and WHO 13 in Des Moines, Iowa (DMA #67), have each earned a national Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA). KXAN-TV was recognized in the “Digital” category and WHO 13 for “Hard News.”

Large Market Television: Digital – KXAN’s winning entry was a collection of investigative projects that combined reporting with digital storytelling, video, and other multimedia elements to hold the powerful accountable and give viewers a deeper understanding of important issues across Texas. Small Market Television: Hard News – WHO 13 in Des Moines, Iowa, was honored for “Robin’s Voice,” a powerful story of Robin Leaper, who lost her ability to speak due to ALS after being diagnosed in 2023.
