Anaheim, California - The Lighthouse Treatment Center, a drug and alcohol addiction treatment facility in Anaheim, California, is thrilled to announce that its Community Relations Manager Tamara Jimenez has received the prestigious Architect of Recovery Award for her role in the community and being an active advocate for alcohol and drug recovery. The award was given during the "32nd Annual Recovery Happens" event on September 4, 2024, at the California State Capitol.
Jimenez expressed her appreciation and gratitude for the recognition, stating that it is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire Lighthouse Treatment Center team. She also emphasized the importance of community involvement in promoting awareness and support for those struggling with addiction.
"I am very honored to receive this prestigious award and grateful for the opportunity to represent Lighthouse Treatment Center," said Jimenez. "Our team is committed to making a positive impact in the community by providing resources, education, and support for those affected by addiction."
Peter Davidson, President of the Lighthouse, could not be prouder of Jimenez's achievement and the positive impact she continues to make in the community. "Tamara has been an integral part of our team and has been instrumental in building strong relationships with local organizations, businesses, and individuals," said Davidson. "We are lucky to have her as a leader in our organization and representing us in the community."
The Recovery Happens event, organized by the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CCAPP), has been held every September since 1992 in honor of National Recovery Month. Hosted at the State Capitol, the event aims to raise awareness and understanding of mental health and substance use disorders while celebrating those who have achieved recovery.
Attendees enjoyed a variety of activities, including the Recovery Walk & Roll, vendor exhibits, a free pancake breakfast, a recovery meeting, the annual banner contest, and a recovery countdown. A highlight of the event was the Appreciation Awards, recognizing individuals and organizations that have made a significant impact in the recovery community.
Tamara Jimenez's recognition as the recipient of the Architect of Recovery Award is just the latest in a series of accolades that underscore her unwavering dedication to mental health and community service. Before this, in 2020, she was honored as a Women of Distinction by California’s 29th Senate District, an acknowledgment of her significant contributions as a Mental Health Champion.
This earlier recognition highlighted her role in advancing mental health initiatives and addiction recovery efforts, illustrating her longstanding commitment to promoting healthier communities. Jimenez’s ability to connect with individuals and organizations at a grassroots level has been instrumental in bridging gaps and creating sustainable support networks for those in need.
Reflecting on her dual recognitions, Tamara Jimenez shared, "Receiving both the Women of Distinction and Architect of Recovery awards is incredibly humbling and a testament to the collective efforts of our team at Lighthouse Treatment Center. These honors reinforce my commitment to community service and inspire me to continue advocating for those affected by addiction and mental health challenges."
As a Community Relations Manager, Jimenez has been instrumental in organizing events, workshops, and outreach programs aimed at raising awareness about addiction and recovery. She has also worked closely with local organizations to provide resources for individuals seeking treatment and support. Her efforts have greatly contributed to increasing access to treatment options and reducing the stigma surrounding addiction.
Under Jimenez's leadership, Lighthouse Treatment Center has taken part in several initiatives to give back to the community, such as sponsoring sober events and participating in fundraisers for organizations dedicated to addiction recovery.
Jimenez's efforts continue to inspire both her colleagues and community partners, as she tirelessly works to expand resources and support systems. Under her guidance, the Lighthouse Treatment Center continues to offer invaluable support and education to those on their path to recovery within the local community.
