This new season explores the vibrant art scene of five cities along the iconic Route 66: Joliet, IL; Springfield, MO; Oklahoma City, OK; Vega, TX; and Santa Rosa, NM.
Directed by acclaimed Filmmaker Christelle Bois and produced by Executive Producer Pierre Gervois, Season 5 of The Story of Art in America has won the Best Documentary Award at the Critics Society Film Festival and the Best Series Award at the Atlanta Film Festival in 2026.
The Story of Art in America travels the length and breadth of the United States to meet the musicians, painters, sculptors, poets, chefs, storytellers, and craftspeople whose work defines the communities they call home.
