DESCRIPTION:

MEMPHIS, Tenn., June 28, 2021 /3BL Media/ – International Paper has made a $210,000 donation to Mid-South Food Bank to support year-round hunger relief efforts. The donation is above and beyond the company’s recurring $100,000 pledge to support the organization’s ability to respond to food insecurity in its 31-county service region.

“While many of those we serve are still picking themselves up after a tough year, International Paper and their employees continue to be generous supporters,” said Mid-South Food Bank President & CEO Cathy Pope. “Their donation will help us provide 630,000 meals to our neighbors suffering from the effects of the pandemic. This food will make a big impact on thousands of people’s lives in the Mid-South.”

International Paper's latest donation is based on an employee matching gift program and provides additional funding to help ensure Mid-South Food Bank can continue to fulfill its mission to change lives by eliminating hunger in the Mid-South. This support is just one example of International Paper’s employee engagement and commitment to the company’s signature causes, which include education, hunger, health and wellness, disaster relief and initiatives that improve the planet.

“The Mid-South Food Bank fills a critical need in our community. Their work helps to eliminate food insecurity and enables families in the Mid-South to lead healthier, more productive lives,” said Dr. Alissa Campbell Shaw, senior manager, Community Engagement, International Paper and executive director, IP Foundation. “We at International Paper are committed, and proud, to help partners like the Mid-South Food Bank address critical needs with our essential products and resources.”
