Casinos.com tallied the votes across numerous states and provinces, with locals voting on the tribal or First Nation casinos that have had the most significant impact on their local communities.
CHARLOTTE, NC / ACCESS Newswire / July 16, 2026 / Casinos.com has revealed the winners of its 2026 Community Impact Awards, the centrepiece of the site's annual Tribal Gaming Month. Voted for entirely by players, the awards recognize the Tribal and First Nation casinos across the United States and Canada that do the most for the nations and communities behind them.
Locals were asked to vote for the casino in their area that has had the most significant community impact, whether that be through funding and donations or excellent entertainment services.
Voting Recognises 7 Standout Casinos For Cultural Impact
The public voting campaign was conducted as part of Casinos.com's Tribal Casinos Month initiative, dedicated to honoring the achievements, cultural contributions, and economic impact of Indigenous-owned and operated casinos across Canada and the United States.
Seminole Hard Rock Tampa won Florida with more votes than any other casino in this year's awards. Florida was also the only region where the top two finishers came from the same nation. Tampa finished ahead of its sister property, Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood.
Elsewhere, Mohegan Sun took Connecticut, WinStar World Casino won Oklahoma, and Pechanga claimed California.
"It's great for us to be able to shine a spotlight on Tribal and First Nation casinos," said Colm Phelan, Global Brand Manager at Casinos.com. "These are establishments who really care about their local communities, not a shareholder's pocket. Tribal Gaming Month is our way of putting that front and center, and giving local players a chance to say thank you to the casinos that get it right."
In Canada, River Cree Resort & Casino won Alberta. Casino Rama topped the Ontario vote, and Dakota Dunes Resort & Casino took Saskatchewan.
This month-long spotlight aligned with National Indigenous History Month in Canada and complements broader efforts to recognize the sovereignty of First Nations, Inuit, Métis, and Native American communities.
