KBRA Releases CREFC June Conference 2022 – Day 1 Recap

KBRA releases its Day 1 recap of the CRE Finance Council (CREFC) June Conference 2022. The event, which opened on June 13, was a welcome return to the in-person format, with the last live event occurring prior to the pandemic in 2019. Day 1 panel discussions focused on how the commercial real estate (CRE) markets will be impacted by the volatility in the capital markets, high inflation, tightening monetary policy, widening of risk-spread premiums, and a potential impending recession. The importance of coming together as an industry to discuss and offer differing viewpoints about how the market will unfold was emphasized throughout the day. The conference was well attended with standing-room-only sessions as well as with many more participating virtually.

The opening day continued its traditional lineup comprising each of the seven CREFC forums (GSE/Mulitfamily, Investment Grade Bondholders, Servicer, Portfolio Lenders, B-Piece Investors, Issuer Forum, and High-Yield & Distressed Realty Assets) hosting separate discussions on their unique perspectives on the state of the market, and the ever-popular closed-door Industry Leaders Roundtable. New this year was the inclusion of a separate track geared toward young professionals on workplace and career issues including its own CRE industry roundtable.
