MedHQ Appoints Steve Mason as Chief Operating Officer

Veteran healthcare executive brings more than 30 years of experience to the role

Mason, who currently serves as President of MedHQ advisory firm Avanza Strategies, brings more than 30 years of healthcare experience to the role of COO, with 20-plus years related to system operations, practice administration, hospital management, payer reimbursement, and professional services contracting.

Mason previously held leadership positions with PhyMed Healthcare Group, Managed Care Advisory Group, Anesthesiology Consultants of Toledo, King Systems Corp., and the Toledo Hospital and ProMedica Health System. He also spent over a decade overseeing practice administration for more than 150 healthcare providers across multiple Midwest states and served in administrative roles within multi-specialty physician practices.

In addition to his new responsibilities at MedHQ, Mason will continue to serve as President of Avanza. In this capacity, he will remain focused on advancing strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing operational performance and delivering exceptional value to clients.
