What is Johnson Fistel Investigating?
On July 27, 2026, the FDA released briefing documents raising concerns about the evidence supporting deramiocel. FDA staff questioned Capricor’s analysis of the HOPE-3 trial, stating that the conversion of results was not “scientifically justified” because it “adds complexity and reduces accuracy.” FDA staff further concluded that “the benefit-risk assessment for deramiocel appears unfavorable in the absence of evidence of effectiveness.”
On July 29, 2026, the FDA’s Cellular, Tissue and Gene Therapies Advisory Committee voted 9 to 3, with no abstentions, that the available evidence did not support deramiocel’s effectiveness in treating cardiomyopathy in patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The committee’s vote is nonbinding.
Following the release of the FDA briefing documents, Capricor’s stock price declined approximately 65% on July 27, 2026. The stock fell sharply again on July 30 following the committee vote, resulting in significant losses for investors.
Investors who purchased Capricor securities and suffered losses are encouraged to contact Johnson Fistel to discuss their rights and potential recovery options. There is no cost or obligation to participate.
