San Diego, CA – Dr. Handler was born and raised in San Diego. He has deep ties to San Diego and all that the city has to offer with its unique culture, diversity and advanced opportunities. He earned his medical degree from St. Louis University Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri, in 1989, then continued his internship and residency in general surgery followed by a second residency in plastic surgery.
In 1999 Dr. Handler started his private practice of plastic and reconstructive surgery back in San Diego, California. He has been practicing for over 24 years and has dedicated his career to helping people look and feel their best. He prides himself on getting to know his patients and educating them on their specific procedure, so they feel confident going forward. Patients praise him for spending so much time with them and being meticulous with their care. Patients come from all over the country seeking Dr. Handler’s expertise.
Dr. Handler offers a variety of services including non-invasive, minimally invasive, and surgical. Non-invasive procedures include skin rejuvenation with injectable fillers, neurotoxins, laser, and chemical peel treatments. Some of the minimally invasive procedures are liposuction, fat transfers, dermal micro-needling, and radio-frequency treatments. Surgical procedures include blepharoplasty, rhinoplasty, facelift, tummy tuck, brachioplasty, breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, and breast reconstruction and are performed in ambulatory surgery centers or hospitals. Many minimally invasive procedures can be performed in his office.
His passion is developing his expertise on facelifts and rhinoplasties. He has travelled the world to learn the newest techniques with world renowned surgeons. He is using the most innovative techniques available to obtain the best results for his patients.

He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, American College of Surgeons, California Medical Association, California Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the San Diego County Medical Society. He has received the Top Doctor award from his peers in 2020 and has been named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor 15 years in a row.
His humanitarian efforts include being a member of the group Interface. Surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, and various other volunteer workers travel to various cities in Mexico several times a year to give their time and expertise to children that need reconstructive surgery for birth defects and traumatic injuries.
