SaaS platform compiles shop, communication, and staff performance data across American/Import, European, and Diesel repair segments

TENNESSEE, US - July 29, 2026 - OktoRocket, a SaaS platform combining phone service, customer relationship management (CRM), and business analytics in a single solution for the auto-repair industry, today released a set of industry benchmarks compiled from more than 1,000 repair locations across the United States. The data spans shop performance, customer communication, and staff performance, and is broken down across three industry segments: American/Import, European, and Diesel repair.

Auto Repair Industry Report

The benchmarks are designed to give shop owners and managers a clearer picture of how their operations compare against peers in the same segment, rather than against the repair industry as a whole. According to the company, performance patterns differ meaningfully between American/Import, European, and Diesel shops, and segment-level comparison offers more actionable context than a single industry-wide average.

The dataset draws on three categories of operational information. Shop performance data covers throughput and revenue-related metrics; communication data reflects how locations handle inbound and outbound customer contact; and staff performance data captures how individual team members contribute to booking and retention. Because the three data types are collected within a single platform, the company said the benchmarks reflect connected operational activity rather than isolated metrics drawn from separate tools.

Labor Rates Emerge as the Clearest Driver of Rising Repair Bills

Among the benchmark findings, one pattern stands out for consumers. The average repair order rose roughly 5.5% from 2024 to 2025 across all three segments. That increase closely tracks a rise in effective labor rates — up 5.5% for American and import shops, 6.2% for European specialty shops, and 3.2% for diesel shops — making labor pricing the clearest driver of higher bills for consumers this year. Parts costs, by comparison, held roughly steady as a share of revenue, suggesting labor is the larger factor behind rising repair costs industry-wide.

“Every shop we studied wants to grow, and most assume the answer is more technicians or more marketing. What the data shows is that the front counter is often the real constraint, and it affects customers directly. Rising labor rates are already pressuring repair bills. When a shop is also understaffed at the counter, customers feel it twice, once in the price and once in the experience.” — Jay Power, CEO, OktoRocket

OktoRocket said the combined phone, CRM, and analytics platform is built specifically for auto-repair and associated businesses, allowing shops to manage customer communication and measure performance without stitching together multiple separate systems. The company plans to continue expanding its dataset as additional locations are added across the United States.

Shop owners can review the benchmark data and request segment-specific comparisons through the OktoRocket benchmarks page.
