International Fraud Awareness Week runs November 19–22, 2025 worldwide Oaxaca, Oaxaca, Mexico. $3.1 billion lost to fraud. That figure comes from Occupational Fraud 2024: A Report to the Nations, the latest study from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), based on 1,921 occupational fraud cases worldwide. The report is available at https://legacy.acfe.com/report-to-the-nations/2024/.
Because fraud remains a persistent and costly threat, GrayCat PI has joined International Fraud Awareness Week, taking place November 16–22, 2025, as an official supporter to help promote anti-fraud awareness and education. The campaign, often called Fraud Week, encourages organizations to look closely at their fraud risks and reinforce prevention and detection efforts. More information about the campaign can be found at http://www.fraudweek.com/.
To support this effort, GrayCat PI has published a detailed article, “International Fraud Awareness Week 2025: Managing Fraud Risk in Mexico,” with practical guidance for insurers, clinics, law firms, and corporate teams with exposure in Mexico. The article is available at:https://graycatpi.com/fraud-week-mexico-2025/
GrayCat PI joins hundreds of organizations that work with the ACFE, the world's largest anti-fraud organization and a leading provider of anti-fraud training and education, to promote Fraud Week activities each year.
During Fraud Week, official supporters may organize a range of initiatives. These can include short fraud awareness sessions for employees, quick surveys to gauge how staff view fraud risk, internal articles and newsletters, and cooperation with local media to highlight how fraud affects organizations and communities.
“As investigations specialists focused on Mexico, we see how fraud in clinics, insurance, and corporate operations can quietly drain resources for years before anyone reacts,” said Fahad Hizam, Investigator at GrayCat PI. “Fraud Week gives leaders with exposure in Mexico a clear moment to pause, look at their real risks, and give their teams simple tools to spot problems earlier.”
ACFE president John Gill, J.D., CFE, noted that the combined efforts of organizations around the world help make Fraud Week a powerful way to raise awareness.
“Fraud is an issue that unfortunately affects people from all walks of life around the world and it takes many forms,” said Gill. “Whether it’s a trusted employee stealing from a small business, or organized rings of fraudsters targeting seniors in our community, most people know someone who’s been victimized by fraud. That’s why it’s so important for organizations to join in this fight together to raise awareness during this week. It is a serious problem that requires a proactive approach toward preventing it and educating people is the first step.”
