SpecterOps Expands Executive Team Following $75M Series B, Adding New CFO, CRO and CMO to Accelerate Growth in Identity Risk Management

SpecterOps, the leader in identity risk management and adversary tradecraft, today announced the expansion of its executive leadership team with the appointments of Tim Bender as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Pat Sheridan as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), and Bryce Hein as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). The appointments come on the heels of SpecterOps’ $75 million Series B round led by Insight Partners, underscoring the company’s momentum and commitment to leading the identity risk management category.

The new executives will play a pivotal role in supporting SpecterOps’ rapid growth as it continues to redefine the identity security market, with a focus on how adversaries exploit attack paths. Fueled by growing market demand, SpecterOps is uniquely positioned to lead this space thanks to its deep expertise in adversary tradecraft and identity-based threat prevention. These leadership additions will help scale the company’s go-to-market, financial, and marketing strategies to deliver on that vision and expand the reach of its flagship platform, BloodHound Enterprise.

Executive Backgrounds and Vision

  • Tim Bender, CFO – A seasoned financial executive with a track record of guiding high-growth technology companies, Tim brings deep expertise in scaling SaaS business models, financial operations and capital strategy. His expertise encompasses financial operations, strategic planning, and organizational leadership, making him a pivotal addition to SpecterOps' executive team.

Before joining SpecterOps, Tim served as CFO of ZeroFox, a provider of external cybersecurity solutions, during a period of growth that resulted in the sale of the company. Previously, Tim held leadership positions at Motionsoft and Vocus.

“SpecterOps is at the forefront of a rapidly evolving identity security landscape. I’m excited to help the company scale responsibly while supporting its vision to redefine how organizations approach identity risk,” said Bender.
  • Pat Sheridan, CRO – With nearly three decades of sales and leadership experience in the security industry, Pat joins SpecterOps to lead its worldwide sales organization. As SpecterOps enters a transformative growth phase, Pat will spearhead global revenue strategy, enterprise partnerships, and market expansion initiatives.

Prior to joining SpecterOps, Pat served as Senior Vice President of Americas Sales at Sophos, where he was instrumental in expanding the company's Managed Detection and Response (MDR) and incident response services, as well as its extensive security product portfolio. Before that, he held several leadership positions at FireEye, including Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Americas Sales, and U.S. Public Sector Sales, playing a key role in the 2021 acquisition of its product business.

“SpecterOps combines unmatched technical talent with a clear mission to solve identity risk at scale,” said Sheridan. “I’m proud to be joining a team that’s raising the bar for how we protect enterprise environments.”
  • Bryce Hein, CMO – A strategic marketing leader with a history of scaling companies in cybersecurity, Bryce will oversee marketing and go-to-market initiatives. His experience spans the full marketing mix, including product marketing, corporate marketing, and growth marketing.

Prior to joining SpecterOps, Bryce served as CMO at Sysdig, where he helped raise the company’s profile in cloud security. Before Sysdig, he was Chief Marketing Officer at ExtraHop, where he led the marketing efforts to pivot the company to cybersecurity and drive category development, awareness, and growth.

“SpecterOps has built something truly exceptional, with a platform that’s solving critical problems and a team with unmatched expertise in adversary tradecraft. I’m thrilled to join at such a pivotal moment and help accelerate our go-to-market strategy and impact in the market,” said Hein.
