Where Chinese and International Guests Experience the Value and Legacy of the Spirit of the Long March

[Global Perspectives on the Long March and Guizhou] From June 26 to July 2, guests participating in the “Together on the Long March” CICG International Communications Project visited Guizhou. Experts, scholars, and young representatives from countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Vietnam followed in the footsteps of the Red Army to places such as Guiyang, Zunyi, Renhuai, Xishui, and Meitan, where they visited the Zunyi Conference Site and the Four Crossings of the Chishui River Memorial, gaining firsthand insight into the contemporary significance of the Long March spirit through immersive experiences at these historic sites.
[International Guests Retrace the Long March at Guiyang’s “Red Banderole”] On July 2, guests participating in the “Together on the Long March” CICG International Communications Project visited the “Red Banderole” in Guiyang, where they watched The Great Journey and Over Colorful Guizhou. As China’s first immersive digital experience center themed around the Long March, the museum offers visitors a deeply immersive way to engage with this important chapter of China’s history. Among its highlights, the center uses advanced technologies such as AI-powered virtual interaction, holographic projection and 3D surround sound to digitally recreate the epic journey of the Long March.
[On CPC’s 105th Founding Anniversary International Visitors Seek to Understand the CPC in Zunyi] On July 1, 2026, the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, guests participating in the “Together on the Long March” CICG International Communications Project visit Zunyi, known as the City of the Turning Point.” Representatives from the United States, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, the Netherlands and other countries visit the Zunyi Conference Site to trace the CPC’s revolutionary roots, reflect on the spirit of the Long March, and share stories of China in the new era.
[A Pomelo Grows in Qinggangpo: International Guests Taste the Living Revolutionary Legacy] On June 28, guests participating in the “Together on the Long March” CICG International Communications Project visited the Qinggangpo Battle Site, where they stood in silent tribute to the fallen heroes. In January 1935, the first major battle following the Zunyi Conference broke out here, marking the beginning of the Four Crossings of the Chishui River. Ninety-one years later, the smoke of war has long dispersed. Red tourism combined with a local pomelo-based specialty industry is contributing to rural revitalization. From the chaos of battle to green hills, from sacrifice and unyielding resistance to peaceful and stable lives, Qinggangpo bears witness to the enduring revolutionary legacy passed down through generations, as well as the profound transformation of Guizhou on a new Long March.
[Foreign Friends Discover the “Green, Prosperous, and Beautiful” Side of Zunyi’s Meitan] On the afternoon of June 29, Chinese and international guests taking part in the CICG “Together on the Long March” International Communication Project visited Meitan in Zunyi, Guizhou, where they experienced a green miracle amid vast tea plantations. Meitan is the largest tea-producing area in Guizhou, home to 600,000 mu of ecological tea gardens. From the Republic of China-era Central Experimental Tea Farm, which opened the door to China’s modern tea industry, to “Meitan Cuiya” and “Zunyi Hong” teas whose fragrance now travels across the world, these small leaves bear witness to this land’s sustained journey from poverty alleviation to rural revitalization. The guests sat together to savor tea and then stepped into the workshop to pan-fry fresh tea leaves with their own hands, experiencing the warmth and inheritance of this ancient craft amid the rising fragrance. A freshly brewed cup allowed them to taste not only the fresh, brisk flavor of Meitan tea, but also the story of how an industry leads a local community toward a better life.
