24 Hour Home Care Is Proud to Announce That Its President of Community Supports, Simon Close, Has Been Appointed to the National Aging in Place Council Board of Directors

Close has more than 25 years of experience and is focusing on extending vital health services to seniors and other vulnerable populations

24 Hour Home Care, an award-winning, non-medical, home care provider today announced its President of Community Supports, Simon Close, will serve on the National Aging in Place Council® (NAIPC) Board of Directors. The five-person Board oversees the senior support network that connects service providers with older homeowners, their families, and caretakers.

NAIPC was founded on the belief that an overwhelming majority of older Americans want to remain in their homes for as long as possible but lack awareness of home and community-based services that make independent living possible. The organization has 10 local chapters in the U.S. and includes members who are experts in healthcare, financial services, elder law, design, and home remodeling.

“Serving on the National Aging in Place Council Board is an opportunity to extend the impact of the core mission and values we have at 24 Hour Home Care - reaching more lives and supporting vulnerable populations on a broader scale,” said Simon Close, President of Community Supports at 24 Hour Home Care. “I look forward to guiding the strategy of the Council and helping scale their impact.”

Close oversees 24 Hour Home Care’s Community Supports Division, which prioritizes care for seniors and underserved communities by providing access to in-home care for Medi-Cal recipients and other low-income people. Close joined 24 Hour Home Care in 2020 as Vice President of Senior Care, bringing with him more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries across three continents. Last year, he was named as one of Los Angeles Business Journal’s Leaders of Influence. He has previously served on the boards of The OrtheED Institute, Smilefast, and Hahn Healthcare in Australia, guiding life sciences and highly regulated companies toward double-digit revenue growth, and through complex operating and business model pivots.

“We are thrilled to welcome Simon Close as a board member,” says Tara Ballman, Executive Director of the NAIPC. “His impressive background and shared commitment to our mission will help this community further our work in championing aging-in-place issues through education, collaboration, and advocacy."
