Dr. Frederick D. Harper’s heartfelt poetry and prose collection, To Woman, From Man, has been honored with the Literary Titan Book Award, recognizing the book’s moving tribute to women across history, family, faith, love, leadership, healing, and everyday life.
To Woman, From Man is a compilation of Harper’s poems and prose written for and about women. The collection honors both famous and non-famous women, while recognizing the suffering, discredit, and lack of acknowledgment women have endured over centuries. With sincerity and moral purpose, Harper pays tribute to women whose lives, courage, and influence have shaped families, communities, social progress, and his own personal growth.
The book also expresses Harper’s deep gratitude for the women who positively influenced his journey, including his mother, school teachers, a college instructor, a Sunday school teacher, friends, and two former wives who remain dear friends and loved ones. Dedicated to his mother, whom Harper describes as the most significant woman in his life, the book stands as what the author calls “a labor of love.”
Literary Titan praised To Woman, From Man as “a heartfelt, old-fashioned, deeply intentional act of praise, witness, and encouragement,” noting Harper’s direct, accessible, and uplifting voice. The review highlights the book’s broad scope, from therapeutic poems on grief, fear, loneliness, anger, and healing to tributes honoring women such as Helen Keller, Harriet Tubman, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Serena Williams, Marie Curie, Tina Turner, and Misty Copeland.
In his author interview, Harper explained that the collection was inspired in part by Women’s History Month and by his desire to honor women, acknowledge their historical struggles, and encourage them to rise above the challenges of today’s world. His professional background in counseling, psychotherapy, psychology, and sociology deeply informs the book’s compassionate tone and its emphasis on strength, perseverance, dignity, and self-worth.
Through poems and prose centered on motherhood, friendship, love, leadership, spiritual life, loss, and recovery, To Woman, From Man offers readers an inspirational and reflective reading experience. The final section includes quotations selected for their inspirational, educational, therapeutic, spiritual, and enlightening value for women.
To Woman, From Man by Dr. Frederick D. Harper is available now on Kindle and in paperback and hardcover on Amazon.
