Clarus (CLAR) Q3 Earnings Report Preview: What To Look For

Outdoor lifestyle and equipment company Clarus (NASDAQ: CLAR) will be reporting earnings this Thursday after market hours. Here’s what to look for.

Clarus beat analysts’ revenue expectations by 3.5% last quarter, reporting revenues of $55.25 million, down 2.2% year on year. It was a softer quarter for the company, with a significant miss of analysts’ EBITDA estimates and EPS in line with analysts’ estimates.

This quarter, analysts are expecting Clarus’s revenue to be flat year on year at $66.51 million, improving from the 17.4% decrease it recorded in the same quarter last year. Adjusted earnings are expected to come in at $0.06 per share.

Analysts covering the company have generally reconfirmed their estimates over the last 30 days, suggesting they anticipate the business to stay the course heading into earnings. Clarus has missed Wall Street’s revenue estimates four times over the last two years.

Looking at Clarus’s peers in the leisure products segment, some have already reported their Q3 results, giving us a hint as to what we can expect. Harley-Davidson delivered year-on-year revenue growth of 16.5%, beating analysts’ expectations by 2.8%, and Malibu Boats reported revenues up 13.5%, topping estimates by 4.3%. Malibu Boats traded down 14.6% following the results.

Debates over possible tariffs and corporate tax adjustments have raised questions about economic stability in 2025. While some of the leisure products stocks have shown solid performance in this choppy environment, the group has generally underperformed, with share prices down 7% on average over the last month. Clarus is down 1.8% during the same time and is heading into earnings with an average analyst price target of $4.15 (compared to the current share price of $3.30).
