The Thank a Veteran Program Also Allows Customers to Pay It Forward with Free Haircut Cards

For the 13^th consecutive year, Great Clips^®, the world’s largest salon brand, will offer free haircuts to veterans and active military service members as part of its annual Thank a Veteran program. On November 11, veterans and active military service members can visit any Great Clips salon in the United States in recognition of Veterans Day and participating salons in Canada for Remembrance Day to receive a free haircut or a card to be used during a future visit.

Non-military customers can also participate in the Thank a Veteran program by visiting a Great Clips salon on November 11, where they will receive a free haircut card to pay it forward to a veteran or active military service member. These cards will be redeemable through December 5, 2025.

Since the program’s inception in 2012, Great Clips salons have provided more than 2.5 million free haircuts – valued at $39 million.

Great Clips is also partnering with Kenny Jary – also known as Patriotic Kenny – an 82-year-old Navy veteran and TikTok star to spread the word about Great Clips’ Thank a Veteran program. He recently documented his experience at a local salon, which you can see here.

Great Clips also honors service members and veterans through its support of Operation: Healing Heroes Foundation. The organization began as a television series dedicated to sharing the stories of veterans across generations with people throughout the U.S. and Canada. Since its inception in 2015, Operation: Healing Heroes Foundation has treated over 1,100 veterans to outdoor experiences free of charge. After witnessing the power and healing effects that the outdoor experiences could have on post-traumatic stress, the organization expanded in 2019 to provide financial support to veterans seeking treatment for PTSD. Operation: Healing Heroes is still sharing veteran stories and it’s now in its ninth season. This latest season includes an episode with Patriotic Kenny where he joins host Jay Garstecki to talk about his Patriotic Kenny Foundation.
